ALTERNATIVES
Alternatives to trend and social data tools, by the job you need done
Already use a trend or social data tool and want options? Each alternatives page lists several genuine choices, where each is stronger or weaker, dated vendor facts, and when to stay with what you have.
ANSWER FIRST
The short answer
An alternatives page starts from a tool you already know and lists several others that do parts of its job, including when to stay where you are. A comparison weighs exactly two tools. Start here when you are leaving a tool or missing something in it; use the comparisons once you are down to two.

- Virlo alternatives: what to use instead, by the job you need done. Virlo is deep on short-form video. Alternatives by job: cross-source customer trends, raw social data APIs and search interest, with dated facts from each vendor and when to stay with Virlo.
We publish an alternatives page only when we can list several real options from their own published facts. For a wider shortlist, read the best trend APIs, compared.
How to evaluate an alternative to your trend tool
- Name the job you use it for. “Find video formats to copy”, “see what customers complain about” and “track search interest” are different jobs, and most tools do one of them well.
- Decide between raw data and an answer. A raw data API gives you posts to analyse; an intelligence product gives you the analysis. Pick by who does the ranking.
- Check coverage where your customers are. A tool that is excellent on TikTok cannot tell you what a B2B buyer asks on Reddit, and the reverse.
- Check the evidence. Can every finding be traced to a link and a date? Does the tool say what it could not see, or does silence look like “nothing happening”?
- Price a real month. Per-call, per-seat and pack pricing only compare on your workload; the cost calculator prices one for TrendsFast.
